Sleepless night

It was 4am in the morning, I was woken up by a full bladder and headed straight to the loo. After that I couldn't get a ticket back to Slumber Land. No matter how I toss and turn, I was totally lost in a place of ponderous random thoughts. I have been awake for more than 2 hours since the last toilet break, and what kept me awake was unpremeditated ideas and views on different issues happening in the world.

Although I am tugged comfortably in my cushy bed and pampered with cool air blowing from the converter, I sympathized and worry for the safety of the 21 Korean hostages captured by the Talibans. Initially 23 of them were there under the name of CHARITY, yet they are now the scape goat of war and terror. Already 2 had died, although Talibans have again extended their deadlines, Afghan government has no intension of releasing the 8 Taliban captives in their end. Massage from the White House in Washington has clearly state that they will not negotiate with terrorists. It is so political, I wonder if the situation will be different if the hostages were Americans.

There is definitely more than meets the eye, maybe the 8 Taliban captives were already dead, or maybe this is a good chance to create more hatred so as to have another reason for war before his (you know who) last presidential period, a new military pact has been made and they are able to cash in 20 billion US for aiding Saudi Arabia, 13 billion for Egypt and 30 billion for Israel!

When you no longer have a say in your own life, when one decision made by some politicians to their own benefits can lead you being killed by the hands of terror, your chances of surviving is going to be very slim. Although that, I still hope that all the hostages will be release soon.

Digress from the above issue, my thoughts wonder off to Saving GAIA. I 'air brushed' and listed down the things I should and should not do in my part to save mother earth.

Gaia cries for help, the air is polluted
Gaia cries for help, the temperature is rising
Gaia cries for help, trees are disappearing
Gaia cries for help, the glaciers are melting

1) I wanted to bring my own chopsticks and spoon when I eat out.
2) I shall switch all the electronic items to a complete OFF and not letting them be on stand by.
(By doing that it is said to save 500 watts)
3) I shall shorten the time I spend on shower to save water.
4) I shall recycle and re-use anything I can.
5) I shall not turn the air condition on for the whole day.
6) I shall use hankies instead of tissue paper.
7) I shall bring my own shopping bags and say NO to plastic bags.
8) I will not buy fur items.
9) I will not eat sharks fins.
10) I have PLEDGE to save gaia.

See, all these thoughts came into my mind between 4am to 7am, how to sleep.....
