Save my laptop

My laptop is giving me problems recently, software problems, every time I turned it on the system will pop up a window with the following message:

RTHDCPL EXE - Illegal system DLL relocation
The system DLL user 32.dll was reocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL C:\windows\system32\HHCTRL.OCX occupied an address range reserved for windows system DLLs. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL

What is DLL? I am not an IT expert and I really don't know what to do with it...

Another problem, when I turn on the internet explorer, there will be another system message that reads:

scvhost.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "Ox745f2780" referenced memory at "0x00000000". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate program, Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

Therefore I clicked ok thinking I should terminate program, but once I did that the whole system HANGED! (happened a lot of times)

I had no choice but to think that by clicking cancel, it will debug and get back to normal.... no... there is not change even when I did that.... It has since become the "routine" to see the above system messages every time I turned on my laptop.

One more thing, my laptop now is unable to detect any audio device and because of that I cannot hear any form of sound other than system sound.... WHAT IS GOING ON!

All these problems arises when I installed Norton Security...... (Don't worry it is not pirated one).

Is there anyone out there able to recommend some software expert that is able to bring my lappy back to normal?

Thank you very much!

  1. Hey Noelle,
I asked Bertram's friend and he asked if you are using window's vista? And if you are,did u recently do an automatic update? If answers= yes. Then you might be experiencing the "latest Microsoft super bug leaching your system" <- his words :P
He says, there should be a patch for u to correct this problem, u need to download that patch (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com) and run it. It should solve the problem or else you install an anti-virus software. (It should kill it) We are using avast anti-virus software(you can get it free online)
