If your employer were to make you choose between family and your career, what will you choose?
To me the answer is obvious, I do not want to spend my entire life working in this kind of selfish and brainless company.
So much for all those giving birth campaign and encouragement from our leaders in Singapore. To really see increase in birth rates,
Firstly you have to educate the employers in Singapore to give us women the same treatment that they provide to our male counterparts.
Educate them not to discriminate women who are trying to produce future leaders for our country.
We should also be given the same career opportunities and advancement in all aspects.
I still cannot believe it! They will say such things to me, that pregnancy will affect my job physically and mentally, also they have to get other people to cover my duties while I will be away for 3 months maternity leave. (Don't be mistaken, I am not pregnant yet.)
I thank our government for giving us the subsidies and perks as a form of encouragement, but being a modern women nowadays isn't as simple as it looks. We are constantly facing the same amount of pressure that our men received and on top of that we still have to face social/ family issues.
How to strike a balance?
